The Tarot deck consists of 78 cards which are broken down into 22 Major Arcana and 56 Minor Arcana. The Major Arcana are the trump cards and the Minor Arcana are the pip cards. The pip cards are similar to European playing cards, except the Court Cards include a Page, Knight, Queen and King. The meanings for the cards follow different traditions in different countries and amongst the different decks available.

, in which it is featured very prominently. It has been in print for over forty years and remains quite popular. With stunning artwork by Fergus Hall, the Tarot Of The Witches Deck depicts dreamlike fantasies with vibrant colors and bold imagery. Fergus Halls imaginative style takes its influence from the surrealist art movement. Halls background as a carnival painter comes through in the Major Arcana, with characters that are enigmatic and edgy. The deck follows the structure of traditional Tarot, with minimalistic art in the Minor Arcana. This is a deck that invites you to explore the mysteries of Tarot. It includes a 44-page booklet and a spread sheet. Larger size (3 x 4.625) deck.
Widely touted as the deck no one thought of, the cards are now much more populated than they traditionally appeared. More people, new objects, and different landscapes are revealed. Many cards that originally showed only a single figure now show them with spectators, acolytes, children, or animals. There are also more angelic and demonic elements – extra demons or gargoyles appear in the Devil and the Nine of Swords, an angel appears in the Eight of Wands, a winged horse in the Four of Cups, a ghost or spirit in the Seven of Pentacles. Some cards are not exact 180-degree reversals, and, understandably, some artistic license has been taken so that each image works. Seated figures, like the court cards and Justice, have been treated by showing a frontal view of the card in bas-relief, to look like decoration on the back of the throne. A fascinating and visually evocative deck! Standard size (4.75 x 2.75) deck.
