A little off topic but related to how Raise Spectre/Zombie work with skill gems. If you raise a spectre with minion damage and then subsequently remove minion damage and replace it with IIR does the spectre maintain minion damage because it was raised with it and have the IIR when it kills something? Does minion damage work the same as LMP/GMP where it is effective if it is linked the minion is raised? If minion damage works the same it seems like an easy work around to turn a 4 link into a 5 link, 5 link into 6 link etc.
if you use a 6L chest for spectres you can take out 5 support gems for something else and still have pre-summoned spectres do everything they did.
As for distillate and minions you dont pop it and summon them. That doesnt work all that well.
adding support gems to raise spectre/zombie/skeleton skills after the summons does nothing to the minions at all.
no, all support gems are only active when using a skill. you used the raise spectre/zombie/skeleton skill when you summoned them, with whatever support gems you had.
How to properly use Divination Distillate flask with Summoners?

With my righteous life build I get the bonus for the Divination Distillate, but not with my sommoner, the bonus simply does not show up
the support-gem doesnt change your IIR, it changes the summons. If you raise a spectre with the gem equiped that spectre gains the amount of IIR and it keeps it even if you remove the gem, like all other stats gained from supports.
Using distillate is very hard to do with a summoner.Last edited by Saltychipmunk on Feb 1, 2014 5:13:48 PM
it maintains the minion damage and doesnt have the IIR.

yes, all support gems work the same- when you raise the summon.
otherwise, summoners would be insane farmers even in higher maps, if you could just tack on rarity and quantity gems after summons for free.
Ok, I think I see the difference now that support gems only work when the minion is raised and the flask IIR works when the minion kills something. Thanks for the clarification.
Just to clarify your first response to my post, why wouldnt IIR be active if you replace the support gem (minion damage)? I thought support would stay and IIR would be active because it works on when the minion kills something rather than when it was raised. Thanks for the info tho, this thread is very informative.

If a summon kills something it always uses their IIR/IIQ + your IIR/IIQ. That is kinda hilarious for Guardians which equiped with an item for Culling Strike can achieve incredible amounts of IIR and IIQ.
