IMO because the barrier to trading is relatively big (its almost unsupported in client, pricing is hard to do, ect as compared to many RPGs where its supported in client much better and theres only one currency), it makes it easier to play self found early on.

Yep. Even Chris himself hinted at it a couple of nights ago on Reddit. The droprate of mirrors is dependent on the amount of players.
Weve been checking into this for most of today and havent found anything wrong yet on our end. We cant see any evidence that people have been able to look at private item information. If anyone has any actual info on this, please let me know.
Oh btw, while were debunking, those claims about certain people having 72 mirrors are untrue. Thats off by an order of magnitude.Normally were happy for players to exaggerate their in-game wealth, but this is a topic that upset a lot of people.

It could be why a lot of people play self found.

Been traveling for work this week and didnt see this stuff until my flight home today. Its interesting to see the reaction from the community. Its sad and funny how upset people got because a few players were able to take advantage of a few things people didnt know about.

Though if you play self found and still complain about economy, thats a total wut.
IIRC, 22 mirrors have dropped so far in Warbands, and Im pretty sure a Challenge League has never had this many shortly after 1 month, so that tells you a lot haha.
Ooooh ok. Yeah, I didnt know since Ive never played PA. Thats really crazy then, since typically, Bow and Melee gems rely much more on your weapon, and the level is only very small gains versus Spells, which rely a whole lot on level (and weapon is whatever)
As per usual, this whole thing was blown way out of proportion and people s*** their pants for nothing. Theres no massive conspiracy, theres no broken economy, theres no 72 mirrors. Nothing but a bit of a shift in the meta.
If you are surprised that people have different amounts of information and take advantage of that imbalance you likely live a very sheltered life and should thank GGG for opening your eyes to how economics work. Like most things with this game, if you dont like how the economy impacts the game or get mad that a user was able to collect large amount of a rare currency this may not be the best game for you to play.************************************************
yeah the initial hit is worthless, youre scaling the damage over time. It used to be really hard to get multipliers which is why it used to be in traps, but with jewels they made it really really strong.
All in all, Im glad this has been resolved after it was revealed the thing was a hoax, both in regards to Master metamods not changing and the lie about the 72 mirrors.
Also, at this link theyre debunking the image of 72 mirrors. Approximately 22 of the mirrors are legitimate according to the photoshop experts of reddit.

Only the initial hit of PA scales off your phys damage, the cloud is essentially a spell and only cares about gem level. PA builds dont care about bow damage at all, +3 (6L) and faceroll is pretty accurate.
With a lot of newer and more casual players coming/coming back to PoE, more people will transition like I have over time.
Thats the other thing I dont get. If anything, this process makes +3 bows cheaper, which is a plus if youre buying lol.
Unless you want power creep in every patch lol.

I play mostly self found, but Ive been trading more and more the past 2-3 months and I still dont have a problem. Although my self found Alphas Howl and Rats Nests (on 2 different rangers) have been pretty big.
The number dropped is proportional to the number of people playing. The drop rate may be small, but a lot of people are playing The Awakening.
Agreed. Even in real life, people withhold information to get ahead regardless of what field youre in. Thats why I laugh at the people trying to blow this up. Its like… welcome to reality lol.
Yup, very true. And thats why its like that – to deter people from trading and to actually kill monsters to get their gear. Thats why Chris has openly stated before (and again shortly after expansion release) that PoE would never get an auction house.
As a result you dont care too much about exalting on more affixes after +3 and leo mod

That and if you dont know what is out there thats better than what you have, you dont really feel the need to get an upgrade. It used to be when I was low on resists I would just try to find a good upgrade in Cruel and early Merc. Now I hit resist problems in A3C and spend a chaos on a belt to get a belt as soon as it becomes even a moderate issue.
